Our newly opened expansion project for Forest and Sandridge Primary School opened on time and on budget for Autumn term 2023. The project involves increasing the capacity of a modern primary school building, with associated upgrades to the existing facilities and includes 3 main elements of work:

1. A four classroom extension with a new WC block and Activity studio.
2. Expansion of the existing nursery and reorganization to create an additional classroom.
3. Increase in the capacity of the existing car park and improved vehicle circulation.

Located in South Wiltshire, flooding is a major issues and so a comprehensive upgrade to the existing SUDS infrastructure is included as part of the works. In our role as architect we have liaised with the civil engineer to ensure that attenuation and swales are appropriately located; the correct specification of permeable paving was used in play areas; and all elements were coordinated with the landscaping. We have also been the main point of contact with the Local Authorities Drainage and Flooding Officer throughout the approval process
